Our Team

Mouska

I founded Elements of Math to help students transition to online learning when schools became virtual. I realized access to a tutor from the comfort of home makes learning easier, more fun and effective.

My goal is to inspire learning minds, help them realize their potential and gain confidence in their abilities!

One of the most memorable books I read as an 8 year old was a guide on the variety of dog breeds. I completed my bachelor’s degree in zoology and animal physiology, and a master’s degree in cell biology. My love for science and learning culminated into creating EM to foster the same love and curiousity in our wonderful students. My life motto is to never stop learning.

Nahrain

I am a master’s student studying Biomedical Sciences. I love teaching and interacting with students of all ages. I have been working at UofT teaching professional students Human Anatomy in cadaver labs for three years. What makes me a great tutor is my absolute conviction in my students. I teach with patience and encouragement and re-frame problems to enable students to independently solve them.

Dante

I’m an interdisciplinary individual with an academic foundation in the sciences from the University of Toronto, and a passionate writer. I dapple in various forms of art, including music and illustration.  In the same vein, my approach to tutoring is interdisciplinary. I believe that the key to valuable learning is understanding how subjects of interest have applications to the world around us. My favourite subjects to tutor include general science, biology, English and history, as well as more specialized courses in neuroscience, ecology, and environmental science.

Brendan

I’m an undergraduate student specializing in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved the sciences and mathematics. I found success in these subjects by putting in the work and applying concepts to my interests in order to increase my understanding. I try to teach my students that although hard work is the key to success, if you’re interested in what you do the work will seem easy.
